Bơm ly tâm trục đứng đa tầng bao gồm hai hoặc nhiều cánh quạt. Loại bơm này được sử dụng trong nhiều lĩnh vực bơm khác nhau, mỗi tầng có thể xem như một máy bơm riêng biệt và có thể tạo ra lựa bơm tổng rất lớn. Tất cả các tầng cánh được nằm trong một vỏ và được gắn trên cùng một trục. Tám hoặc nhiều tầng có thể được gắn trên một trục ngang duy nhất. Mỗi tầng sẽ tăng một khoảng áp lực bơm như nhau lên tổng áp lực. Bơm nhiều tầng có thể là hút đơn hoặc kép.
